My city Kolkata,located in eastern India in the Ganges Delta,has a monthly mean temperature ranging from 15 to 30 degree Celsius.Summers are hot and humid and dry spells which are experienced during May and June,the maximum temperature often exceeds 40 degrees.Winter tends to last for only about two and a half months with seasonal lows dipping to 9 to 11 degree Celsius between December and January.Often during early summers heavy rains lash the city,bringing relief from the humid heat.The heavy rains are often accompanied by thunderstorms which are locally called kal-baisakhi.

Enjoy the sun,the monsoon as well as the spring while you are on a trip to the city of joy!From the perspective of the weather of Kolkata,the best time to visit this magnificent city is between October and March.
